About the Owner
The Soaring Spirit is owned by Brenda Collins. Brenda has been involved in the Avian Community for more than a decade. Even though her children have grown up and flown the coop, no one can accuse her and her husband, Terry, of being empty nesters. They share their home with eight parrots.

It is the insights that Brenda has gained from the day to day living with her birds, coupled with her training in the science of Applied Behavior Analysis, that has made her successful in companion parrot ownership. While working for other facilities in the past, Brenda had the opportunity to raise over 150 baby Macaws (she definately has a passion for the Macaws), over 20 baby Cockatoos, as well as, several baby Eclectus, Amazons, Greys, Senegals, Pionus, Jardines, Caiques, and Cockatiels.

Brenda's college degree is in the Medical Technologies with an emphasis in Clinical Microbiology. This aids her in her understanding of Avian Diseases, and is the reason why she takes proper care in the disinfecting of her boarding facility so seriously.

Brenda is always willing to share her knowledge and experiences with her customers, and equally loves to learn in return from her clients. Brenda's philosophy is that if everyone keeps an open mind and shares their experiences it can only lead to healthier, happier lives for our companion parrots.

Anna - Male Goffin's Cockatoo.   Hatched in 1995; hand-raised from 3 mos. of age.



Buster - Male Red-sided Eclectus.  Hatched in 1997; hand-raised from 3 mos. of age.




Megan - Female Blue & Gold Macaw.  Hatched in 1998; hand-raised from 2 mos. of age.



Baja - Female Red-Fronted Macaw.   Hatched in 1995; adopted in 2000.




Togo - Male Congo African Grey.   Hatched in 1998; adopted in 2001.




Spirit - Female Green-Wing Macaw.   Hatched in 2002; hand-raised from 4 mos. of age.


Jewel - Female Scarlet Macaw.   Hatched in 2002; adopted in 2003.
