Annuity Trust - The gift that
keeps on giving

There are as many ways to make a gift to Scouting as there are reasons for doing so.  One of the best is the annuity trust.  It is a great way to make a substantial gift to Scouting at a very low cost to the donor.

The annuity trust pays a fixed amount of annual income -- which you determine -- to whomever you choose, either for life or for a term of years (also determined by you).  This trust can be funded with cash, stocks, bonds, land, or other types of property.  The year you create the trust, you receive an income tax charitable deduction. If you gave appreciated property to the trust, you would also avoid any capital gains tax on that property.

This type of income trust can be used to pay for college, to pay for retirement, as supplemental income, and for many other things.  And, in some cases, the income you receive from the trust could be tax-free.  These advantages, added to the other tax incentives and the sizable gift that goes to the council when the trust ends, make for a great combination.

Contact us about more information on the annuity trust and other income trusts.  You will find that these are truly gifts that keep on giving.
