| About the Task Force What is the CDAM Task Force on Fees? The CDAM Task Force on Fees was created on March 16, 2006, for the purpose of providing support to attorneys who challenge the adequacy of fees paid to assigned counsel, access to experts or investigators in criminal cases, or the payment levels of assigned counsel systems at both trial and appellate levels. Task Force members consult with attorneys in individual cases who wish to contest fees, provide model pleadings, tools for tracking time, and legal authority. A pleadings collection, and background information about public defense services, is hosted by the Criminal Defense Resource Center at www.sado.org/publicdefense/. The Task Force also collects anecdotal information on a statewide basisreports from attorneys where the fees paid were inadequate or there was a denial of expert services or the assistance of an investigatorfor the purpose of legislative advocacy and law reform. | ||||
